Job Description:
The successful candidate will play a key role in generating and analyzing binding kinetics data that directly informs critical drug discovery decisions. This role is ideal for a scientist who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, thrives in a fast-paced research environment, and possesses strong analytical and communication skills.
Position Summary
As a member of a specialized analytical sciences team, you will support multiple drug discovery programs by performing ligand-receptor and antibody binding characterization studies using industry-leading platforms such as Biacore, Octet, and Carterra. You will work closely with project teams across Client to design experiments, execute assays, analyze data, and communicate findings that advance therapeutic development efforts.
The position provides mentorship, training, and exposure to a diverse range of molecules, modalities, and technologies while offering the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to projects from early discovery through later-stage development.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform binding characterization and kinetic analyses using:
o Biacore (SPR)
o Octet (BLI)
o Carterra platforms
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot binding assays and analytical experiments.
• Analyze experimental data and generate high-quality reports and presentations.
• Interpret results and effectively communicate scientific findings to cross-functional project teams.
• Support multiple therapeutic programs simultaneously while managing changing priorities.
• Collaborate with scientists across research, discovery, and development organizations.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Participate in scientific discussions, project meetings, and data review sessions.
• Assist with automation-enabled laboratory workflows and high-throughput analytical processes.
• Learn and apply new technologies and methodologies as project needs evolve.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in:
o Biology
o Biochemistry
o Biophysics
o Molecular Biology
o Biotechnology
o Life Sciences
o Or a related scientific discipline
AND
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant laboratory experience
OR
• Master’s degree with laboratory experience through industry, academic research, internships, or co-op programs.
Required Experience
• Hands-on laboratory experience in biological, biochemical, or biophysical research environments.
• Experience conducting and documenting laboratory experiments.
• Strong understanding of assay execution, data generation, and scientific reporting.
• Ability to work independently after training while maintaining high-quality scientific standards.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Role Summary:
We are seeking a contractor within the BioMedicine Design department with demonstrated Biosensor instrument, automated liquid handling, and data analysis experience for characterizing biotherapeutics. The successful candidate will design and perform a wide variety of Biosensor assays to assess diverse biotherapeutic modalities and ensure the timely delivery and presentation of high-quality analytical data packages to project teams. The candidate’s passion for discovery research, combined with collaboration skills, will be key drivers for identifying novel biotherapeutics that help patients around the globe.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and perform biosensor binding assays to characterize biotherapeutics and support hit identification, lead optimization, and candidate selection.
- Analyze and interpret kinetic and affinity data to provide actionable insights that drive project progression.
- Present Biosensor results to cross-functional project teams that impact research portfolio advancement.
Qualifications:
Education Level
Master’s degree with 0-1 years of experience or bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
Years of Experience
1-3 years of lab-based experience.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of the biotherapeutic drug discovery process.
- A demonstrated laboratory proficiency developing and executing in-vitro protein-protein binding assays to characterize biotherapeutic candidates.
- Experience with liquid handling automation and high throughput screening methods.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and data management skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt within a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovation driven scientific research environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Biacore SPR, Octet BLI, or similar Biosensor instruments.
- Demonstrated expertise with biotherapeutic affinity and epitope binning assays.
- Practical experience with Janus, Tecan, or Beckman liquid handling platforms.
- Expertise with databases and automated data processing workflows.
