Job Description:
- Looking for a technical writer to improve existing and develop new technical documentation. The documentation being developed is for use by manufacturing and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Creation: Develop and improve work instructions, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and job aids.
- Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and operations gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Research: Investigate and analyze technical information from various sources to create comprehensive documentation that meets user needs.
- Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company style guidelines.
- Basic Project Management: Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, technical writing, engineering, or science fields (preferred). Associate’s degree or HS Diploma/GED with significant technical writing experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of technical writing experience, manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 a must
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams). PTC Windchill system experience is a plus.
- Ability to understand technical processes being documented. Optics knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all documentation produced.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, adapting to changing project requirements and deadlines.
