Shift: Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (EST)
Duration: 2+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Pay Rate: $17 – $21/hour (Based on Experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our team in Winsted, CT. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting and processing high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and a commitment to patient satisfaction and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures accurately and safely following established protocols.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing.
• Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing concerns professionally.
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
• Complete daily activities accurately and within established timelines.
• Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the general public.
• Work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Experience collecting blood samples from pediatric and geriatric patients.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
• Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
