Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Weekend Rotation: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Position Overview:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary patient-facing representative, providing professional and compassionate service while collecting and preparing blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- The PSR II performs venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality and following established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and timely venipuncture and specimen collection.
- Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain required signatures.
- Confirm specimen labels are accurate and applied in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Handle specimens appropriately for laboratory testing.
- Provide a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Travel between Patient Service Centers and in-office locations as needed.
- Maintain a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and dress code standards.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to perform quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Experience with capillary collections.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments as required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Keyboarding and data-entry experience.
- Must comply with company policies and Everyday Excellence principles.
- Cell phones must remain put away during working hours and may only be used during breaks.
Education & Credentials:
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training – Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification – Preferred
- Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Required Experience:
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required
- Experience must include:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- 2 years of Patient Service Center experience – Preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment – Highly Preferred
- Keyboarding/data-entry experience
