Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Location: Lafayette, CO 80026
Duration: 13+ Weeks | Possible Extension
Shift: 8-Hour Shifts | Days/Evenings | Variable Weekends
Pay: $52/hr on W2

Job Summary:

• The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs and interprets laboratory testing to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The role includes specimen testing, quality control, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory workflow.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and interpret laboratory procedures, including chemistry, microbiology, serology, blood bank, and microscopic testing.
• Accurately test laboratory specimens according to established protocols and report results timely.
• Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, reagents, and specimen-related issues.
• Perform laboratory quality control and resolve discrepancies according to established procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Conduct verification testing for new products, instruments, and procedures.
• Collect quality audit data and assist with laboratory inspections and policy/procedure development.
• Maintain laboratory workflow, work areas, supplies, and inventory.
• Assist with training and orientation of new associates.
• Follow laboratory safety, quality, regulatory, and compliance standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 1+ year of recent Acute Care laboratory experience
• One of the following certifications required:
  • ASCP – Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • ASCP – Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
