Job Title: RN – LDRP
Location: Brockton, MA
Duration: 3 months Contract
Schedule: 7P-7A (48 hours per week)
Hourly rate: $77/ hour on W2 Negotiable
Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
- Target Population: Provides care to assigned patients across the lifespan (newborn to geriatric) in accordance with MA Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Core Clinical Duties: Performs assessments, determines diagnoses, develops/evaluates care plans, and safely administers medications and IV solutions.
- Communication & Collaboration: Reports critical condition changes to physicians, educates/counsels patients and families, and collaborates with the care team.
- Quality & Safety: Follows safety, regulatory, and ethical standards while applying LEAN strategies for continuous process improvement.
- Leadership & Supervision: Functions independently, guides LPNs and support staff, and assumes additional responsibilities during the nurse manager’s absence.
Shift & Schedule Details
- Shift Need: Hiring manager needs 4 PM shifts filled to replace departing staff (mid-October through mid-November).
- Scheduling Rules: Self-scheduling permitted (unit needs take priority); even shift-switches are approved.
- RTO Restrictions: No Time Off allowed during summer prime vacation (through 9/15/25).
- Travel Pairs: No travel pairs allowed.
- Mandatory Experience & Clinical Requirements
- L&D: Minimum 2 years of Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) experience.
- Mother/Baby & Newborn Care: Mother-Baby experience (floating or LDRP setting) and immediate newborn care expertise (meds, measurements, physical assessment).
- OR Responsibilities: Circulating Cesarean sections required; willingness to float with patients to the unit’s dedicated OR (no floating to the Main OR).
- Leadership Roles: Willingness to perform Charge Nurse duties or precept.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Required Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, logical thinking under pressure, ability to manage interruptions/difficult patients, and excellent interpersonal skills. Open to beginning practitioners.
- Preferred Software: Meditech experience.
- Preferred Clinical Skills: Scrubbing C-sections.
- Preferred Languages: Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole.
