Location: Southlake, TX
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: CST | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Rotating Saturdays
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III – Floater to join our team in Southlake, TX. The Patient Services Representative III (PSR III) serves as the primary point of contact for patients and is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, including pediatric and geriatric collections, the ability to work independently, and flexibility to travel between multiple patient service centers and physician offices as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, forensic, and clinical specimen collections following established procedures and standards.
- Accurately collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain required patient signatures following specimen collection.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming, professional, and trustworthy environment for patients.
- Explain collection procedures clearly and professionally to patients.
- Complete all required documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and support process excellence initiatives.
- Travel to multiple locations as needed to support staffing requirements.
- Adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- Support Patient Service Centers (PSCs), physician offices, and other assigned locations based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- Certification may be required in specific states (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections required.
- Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
- Prior customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
