Job Title: RN Step Down / PCU
Location: Baldwin Park, CA &Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 13 Weeks+ (Extension Possible)
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Step Down / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Baldwin Park &Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have recent experience caring for patients who require close monitoring and a higher level of care than a general medical-surgical unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Step Down / PCU unit.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and changes in patients’ clinical conditions.
- Assess patients, administer medications, and perform nursing interventions as prescribed.
- Recognize and promptly respond to changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain patient safety and comply with facility policies, infection control standards, and nursing protocols.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in California.
- Recent Step Down / PCU nursing experience required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
