Job Title: Travel RN – Telemetry I
Location: Alexandria, LA 71301
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift/Schedule: Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, every other weekend
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation).
- Care for cardiac and telemetry patients in a telemetry unit (not a step-down unit).
- Administer medications and treatments per established protocols.
- Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with other healthcare team members.
- Maintain compliance with Client and ANA nursing standards and competencies.
Requirements:
- Active RN License in the state of employment or Compact RN License.
- BLS Certification (AHA) required.
- ACLS Certification (AHA) required.
- Minimum 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred.
- Must complete facility orientation and competency validation requirements.
- Ability to care for cardiac and telemetry patients.
Preferences:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior Telemetry and Cardiac nursing experience preferred.
- Experience working independently in an acute care setting preferred.
Unit Details:
- Patient Population: Cardiac and Telemetry patients
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 (depending on staffing)
