Phlebotomist II – Float

Job Title: Phlebotomist II Float
Job Duration: 4 months (possible extension)
Job Location: Ocala, FL 34471
Shift: Mon-Fri 8 OR 10 HR Shift between 5 AM – 5 PM, rotational Saturdays
Job Description

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • Have direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  • Demonstrate Leadership Behaviours while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information.
  • Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  • Maintains required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.

Requirements

  • One – three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • MUST HAVE RECENT PHLEB EXPERIENCE WITHIN PAST 3-4 MONTHS
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting (Preferred)
  • Basic computer and data entry skills

Additional Requirements

  • Reliable personal transportation (public transportation, Uber, or rideshare not acceptable)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (Required)
  • Eligible for mileage reimbursement when traveling between sites
  • Must be punctual and ready to work at any assigned location within the coverage area

Work Environment
This is a float position that will require frequent travel between patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites within the assigned region. Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability.
