Position Summary
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced cardiac care. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, medication management, cardiac monitoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of IMCU/Progressive Care experience
- Telemetry experience required
- Cardiac drip experience required

Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry patients.
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards.
- Participate in on-call coverage and weekend rotations as scheduled.
