Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Riverview, FL. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while delivering a positive patient experience and adhering to established procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Ensure accurate specimen collection, labeling, processing, and preparation for laboratory testing.
- Follow established clinical and forensic specimen collection procedures and protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and safeguard sensitive health information.
- Provide clear explanations of collection procedures and address patient concerns professionally.
- Create a welcoming and professional environment that promotes patient trust and confidence.
- Complete daily activities accurately and within designated timelines.
- Maintain required records, documentation, and data entry with a high level of accuracy.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and infection control procedures.
- Demonstrate organizational values and maintain a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in certain states, including California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
- Keyboarding and data entry experience required.

- Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
