Job Summary
The Manager, Nursing Operating Room (OR) RN is responsible for creating and maintaining a healthy work environment that supports professional nursing practice, teamwork, collaboration, and safe, high-quality patient care.
The manager oversees departmental operations, staff development, quality improvement, resource allocation, policies and procedures, educational programs, and performance initiatives. The role also provides nursing care as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support nursing staff in achieving departmental goals and objectives.

Promote a healthy work environment through effective leadership, communication, and collaboration.

Support evidence-based nursing practice and continuous quality improvement.

Develop and mentor staff while ensuring competency and adherence to standards of practice.

Communicate policies, procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements to staff.

Monitor quality and performance indicators and implement improvement initiatives.

Promote patient-centered care, service excellence, and a safe environment.

Address staff concerns, conflicts, and workplace issues effectively.

Advocate for patients, families, and nursing staff.

Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and administrative teams.

Participate in departmental and organizational committees, programs, and special projects.

Manage resources effectively to meet operational and patient-care needs.

Support hiring, performance management, and other leadership functions.

Maintain compliance with applicable nursing, regulatory, privacy, and patient-care standards.

Utilize computer systems including scheduling, payroll, electronic medical documentation, and Microsoft Office.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
