Job Title: RN – Adult Psych
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 3 months Contract
Schedule: 7:00A – 7:30P
Hourly rate: $53/ hour on W2 Negotiable
- License: Active NYS RN License
- Certifications: BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including 2 years of psychiatry experience
- Preferred: EPIC experience
- Average Unit Census: 16.9 patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care.
- Assess patients, develop care plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Administer nursing interventions and educate patients and families.
- Conduct purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
- Maintain therapeutic relationships using empathy and effective communication.
- Ensure patient safety, quality care, and compliance with hospital protocols.
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC or other hospital systems.
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient transitions of care.
- Manage resources, supplies, staffing needs, and patient throughput.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and unit initiatives.
