Job Title: RN – Oncology
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 2 months Contract
Schedule: 7:00A – 7:30P
Hourly rate: $60/ hour on W2 Negotiable
- License: Active New York State RN License required
- Certifications: BLS required; ONS certification preferred, not required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient Hematology/Oncology and/or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience required
- Chemotherapy Experience: Required
- EHR: EPIC experience
- Unit Capacity: 36 beds
- Average Unit Census: 35.1 patients
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care.
- Assess patients, administer treatments, and monitor clinical conditions.
- Deliver chemotherapy and specialty nursing care as applicable.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Follow patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement protocols.
- Perform purposeful hourly rounding and support a positive patient experience.
- Coordinate patient care, resource utilization, and patient throughput.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
