Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I to join our team in Lake Worth, FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Collect, label, process, and prepare specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Ensure compliance with established specimen collection, handling, and processing procedures.
- Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures clearly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate patient records and required documentation.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties as required.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Promote a professional and positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Support process excellence initiatives and demonstrate leadership behaviors in daily activities.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
- Strong blood collection and specimen handling skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Keyboard proficiency and data entry experience required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience.
- Previous customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment.
