Schedule: 5×8 | 40 Hours/Week | Weekends Required, No Holidays, No On-Call, No Float
Pay Range: $57-$62/hr.

Required Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of experience.
• Knowledge of ultrasound equipment, equipment operation and controls, equipment service procedures, cross-sectional anatomy and physiology, and safety, infection, and disaster policies and procedures, including implementation of patient care in emergency situations.
• Maintains CEU credits.

Preferred Experience

• One (1) year of clinical experience in ultrasound.

Education

Required

• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
• Two (2) years of Allied Health/College training.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS.
• ARDMS Registered.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Breast (BR) specialty or equivalent breast ultrasound credential.

Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high-frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform procedures according to departmental format, completing examinations within the allotted time.
• Perform daily clerical duties using EPIC, Tele Tracking System, patient scheduling, and other computer systems.
• Perform portable ultrasound examinations.
• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures utilizing high-frequency sound waves to detect anatomical abnormalities, including masses, abscesses, and stones.
• Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, deep abdominal studies, and color-flow ultrasound.
• Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Prepare, explain procedures to, measure, and position patients for diagnostic examinations.
• Evaluate image quality and obtain/process images according to standard procedures.
• Maintain ultrasound records, archive/de-archive data, and document patient information.
• Calibrate, clean, perform routine maintenance on equipment, and clean, sterilize, stock, and replenish instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
• Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand a minimum of 6 hours per day.
• Greet patients utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
• Work scheduled shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Adhere to departmental policies, attendance, punctuality, and organizational competencies.
• Identify patient needs and deliver care appropriate to age, culture, language, hearing and/or visual impairment, and developmental level.
