Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing high-quality specimen collection and processing. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in venipuncture and specimen handling, capable of working independently, and dedicated to delivering an outstanding patient experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Accurately collect, label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain required signatures to ensure specimen identification accuracy.
- Maintain patient records and documentation in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all specimen collection procedures are performed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Create a positive and professional patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Follow all safety guidelines, infection control practices, and company policies.
- Support multiple collection sites, including Patient Service Centers (PSC) and physician offices, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Perform daily activities under the direction of the site supervisor while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Experience
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections required.
- Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center (PSC) experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service-oriented environment preferred.
- Experience with data entry and keyboarding required.

Additional Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, if applicable.
- Willingness to travel between multiple work locations as needed.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts when required.
- Ability to cover Patient Service Center and In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
- Commitment to organizational policies, safety procedures, dress code standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
