Location: Weatherford, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team in Weatherford, TX. The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection, specimen processing, and related patient service activities. This role requires strong phlebotomy expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a professional and compassionate environment for patients.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipuncture on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, while ensuring compliance with established safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect high-quality blood specimens through venipuncture, capillary, and other approved collection methods.
- Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identification, demographic information, and obtain required patient signatures following specimen collection.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information.
- Ensure all specimens are collected, handled, and transported according to established protocols.
- Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing concerns professionally.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and uphold company values.
- Support multiple patient service locations and provide coverage as needed.
- Perform daily activities accurately and within established turnaround times.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including:
- Pediatric collections
- Geriatric collections
- Capillary collections
- Strong specimen collection and processing experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) environment preferred.
- Prior customer service experience in a retail, healthcare, or service environment preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Flexible schedule to accommodate staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call responsibilities when required.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
- Ability to travel between Patient Service Centers and physician office locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions within established guidelines.
