Job Title: Phlebotomist Floater – 1st Shift

Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $22/Hour on W2 + Mileage Reimbursement

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist Floater to join our team in Southborough, MA. This role serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care while performing blood collection procedures and ensuring specimen integrity for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling between multiple locations, working independently, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The Phlebotomist Floater will perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages, maintain accurate records, and provide support across patient service centers, physician offices, long-term care facilities, and mobile collection settings as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, fingerstick, and capillary blood collections accurately and safely.
• Prepare, label, process, and transport specimens according to established procedures.
• Provide coverage at multiple locations and adapt to varying patient care environments.
• Ensure all daily activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Create a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns professionally.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for new team members, assisting with training and onboarding activities.
• Act as a point of contact for onsite staff and provide support to supervisors and team leads.
• Assist with resolving customer issues and coordinating with departments such as Sales, Laboratory Services, Billing, IT, and Logistics.
• Accurately enter patient and specimen information into computer systems.
• Follow all safety, quality assurance, and infection control protocols.
• Handle high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or related medical training preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
• Strong customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service setting preferred.
• Previous data entry and keyboarding experience required.
