Location: Ocala, FL
Duration: 2+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Schedule: Rotational Schedule

Shift Timings

Week 1:

  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 5:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Week 2:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 5:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and specimen collection services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, maintain patient confidentiality, and create a positive patient experience by fostering trust and confidence throughout the specimen collection process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
  • Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure all specimen collection and processing activities comply with quality and safety standards.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients, clients, and healthcare professionals.
  • Explain collection procedures and address patient concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and maintain a positive company image.
  • Complete daily assignments accurately and within established timelines.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and compliance requirements regarding patient information.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
    • Certification is required for candidates working in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience required.

Required Skills

  • Strong phlebotomy and specimen collection skills.
  • Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality and specimen handling procedures.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
