Job Title: Surgical Coordinator
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 03 months Contract
Schedule: 9:00A – 5:00P (Mon – Sat)
Hourly rate: $21/hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Job Summary
- Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures.
- Monitor front-office workflow and make adjustments to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Verify patient demographics and obtain insurance pre-certification for all surgeries and procedures.
- Obtain required patient medical clearances.
- Address patient questions and resolve issues related to policies and procedures.
- Place surgical confirmation calls one day prior to scheduled surgeries/procedures.
- Schedule post-operative follow-up appointments with providers.
- Serve as a liaison between referring physicians and surgeons to facilitate clinical communication and OR scheduling.
- Train and mentor Surgical Scheduling Coordinators and less senior staff within the unit.
- Collect and distribute required paperwork to internal and external parties involved in surgical coordination.
- Record hospital reservations and pre-admission information in the CERNER system.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of surgical scheduling experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and patient relations skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Must-Have Requirement
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Coordinator/Surgical Scheduler.
